Skyline

The Chicago Skyline is ranked 4th most impressive skyline in the world. In the summer the lake is packed with beach goers, bikers, and of course for those lucky few sail boaters. I recently got invited to go sailing and it's amazing how many few people have actually been on the lake. I'm so excited, I can't wait to go!

Stewie: "Did you hear that Meg? Guys can marry other guys now. So...this is awkward, but I mean, if they can do that, that is pretty much it for you, isn't it? I mean you as well pack it in. Game over." Stewie Griffin

Wrigley Building

One of the major things I love about Chicago is the architecture. The Wrigley Building is one of my favorite buildings after the Tribune Building.

The Notebaert Nature Musuem

Since the CTA sucks balls, I've taken to walking home when it's really nice outside. The other day I was walking The Notebaert Nature Museum and noticed little baby ducklings in the lake.

At sunrise I arose…by Michel Deguy

At sunrise I arose
To the sound the machine animals make
passing by in the streets over heads
Was it briefly interminable or
interminably brief or both
It was the face ever undone by the mouth
that sentences me to the blinking
of the apparition that slips away in itself,
to erasure, on the edge of the world
It was five o'clock it is six o'clock my love says
One more hour went by an hour has passed
Where the e is not the voice inserts it
and wherever mute phonemes may be they muzzle
My error is ancient my love
To the stalactites of the ages was added
one more micron between your shore and mine
The error of one who hides in a corpse
pulling on the death mask but
Often I understand what people say to me

Tulips

One of the first signs of Spring in Chicago are the tulips that pop up every year. One of the reason's I love Chicago is because it is such a Green city.

CTA Blows

Is it me? Or is the CTA getting worse? For the past two weeks catching the bus to and from work has been hell. I the mornings I catch the bus on the corner of Belmont and Lakeshore Dr. I spend at least thirty-five minutes waiting for a bus that I can actually ride, to come. I take the 145/146 to Michigan and Pearson. Every morning with0ut fail, about six 135 buses going to Lasalle pass me by. Four are usually packed like sardines and two are almost empty. When a 145/146 does happen to show up it's packed beyond capacity, it's ridiculous. Going home is worse, how many 147's are there? There are so many 147's heading north in the evening rush hour it's not even funny. There are at least five 147's to each 145/146. And now they're talking about raising the cost of riding the bus? I don't know about you but it may be time to start walking to and from work. I'll probably get around faster anyway.

Too Graphic?

Yesterday while I was waiting for the bus home, I noticed that there some Pro-lifers walking around downtown with huge poster boards of mutilated babys with the words ABORTION and Roe v. Wade on top. The images were quite disturbing.
