Built for one of the world's leading soap manufacturers, this office building ("a monument to cleanliness") was the first commercial skyscraper built far from the Loop - at the northern end of Michigan Avenue. It was known as the Playboy Building from 1965 to 1989, when it served as headquarters for Playboy magazine.

Benito Juarez

Today Benito Juarez is remembered as being a progressive reformer dedicated to democracy, equal rights for the nation's indigenous Indian population, lessening the great power that the Roman Catholic Church then held over Mexican politics, and defense of national sovereignty. The period of his leadership is known in Mexican history as La Reforma (the reform), and constituted a liberal political and social revolution with major institutional consequences: the expropriation of church lands, bringing the army under civilian control, liquidation of peasant communal land holdings, and adoption of a federalist constitution.

Ben Franklin

Benjamin Franklin (January 17 [O.S. January 6] 1706 – April 17, 1790) was one of the most critical Founding Fathers of the United States. He was a leading author, political theorist, politician, printer, scientist, inventor, civic activist, environmentalist, and diplomat. As a scientist he was a major figure in the history of physics for his discoveries and theories regarding electricity. As a political writer and activist he, more than anyone, invented the idea of an American nation,[1] and as a diplomat during the American Revolution, he secured the French alliance that helped to make independence possible.

This weekend was the annual Gay Pride Parade in Chicago's Boystown. This parade is always fun to go to, besides all the free protection they give out, it's like going to big party.

Skyline

The Chicago Skyline is ranked 4th most impressive skyline in the world. In the summer the lake is packed with beach goers, bikers, and of course for those lucky few sail boaters. I recently got invited to go sailing and it's amazing how many few people have actually been on the lake. I'm so excited, I can't wait to go!

Lincoln Park

A lot of people don't know that Lincoln Park is actually bigger than New York's Central Park and was named after Abraham Lincoln. It is also home to the Lincoln Park Zoo and The Notebaert Nature Museum.

The Chicago Board of Trade is located at 141 West Jackson Boulevard Chicago, Illinois 60604-2994. There is a statue on top of the building, a lot of people don't know that the statue is faceless.

The Notebaert Nature Musuem

Since the CTA sucks balls, I've taken to walking home when it's really nice outside. The other day I was walking The Notebaert Nature Museum and noticed little baby ducklings in the lake.
